EVER WANTED TO GET A STORM SHELTER AT YOUR HOUSE?

Beginning in 2022, eligible taxpayers who incur costs for the construction, acquisition, or installation of a qualified storm shelter at their primary residence in the state of Alabama will be eligible for an income tax credit for the storm shelter. Homeowners will be eligible for a $3000 tax credit for storm shelters installed after January 1, 2022. The credit is not retroactive. There are limitations and a cap of $2 million on the statewide credit total per year for three years.
