GOAT ISLAND CELEBRATES WOMEN IN THE BREWING INDUSTRY WITH PINK BOOTS SOCIETY COLLABORATION BREW DAY
Local women came together at Goat Island Brewing to participate in the Pink Boots Society Collaboration Brew Day where they will develop a recipe and create a name for a new beer as well as perform the brewing, marketing, and promotion of the new product which is scheduled to be released sometime later in March or early April.
The beer, Giggling Goat Juicy IPA, will use a proprietary blend of hops created uniquely each year by members of Pink Boots through a selection process. $3 per pound goes directly to fund the organization. A percentage of the proceeds made from the resultant beer is also funneled back into the organization.
“It’s exciting that we are participating in this year’s collaboration,” said Hannah Peres, Office Manager for Goat Island. “Hopefully this will be the first of many chances we will have to support Pink Boots and encourage women who might be interested in a career in brewing in any of Alabama’s great breweries.”
