Alabama high school basketball team forfeits state playoff game due to religious beliefs, still travels to the tournament to cheer on other teams.

Even with other teams willing to switch game times, the Oakwood Academy Mustangs forfeited their spot in the tournament due to being scheduled on their Sabbath day. The AHSAA reportedly would not accomodate the change.
“The Oakwood Academy Mustangs traveled to the AHSAA state tournament last night to thank and cheer on Decatur Heritage Christian Academy. DHCA was willing to switch game times to accommodate us and our beliefs. Thanks for your understanding!”
